Your responsibilities

You will be part of the Engineering Department.

You will develop basic and detailed engineering, interacting also with external suppliers for the follow-up of the partially outsourced detailed engineering. You will collaborate together with the Project Execution Department for the project management and for the procurement of materials. You will also take part – when necessary – to technical meetings at clients’ site or supplier location and may be involved in supervision activities during the erection, commissioning and start-up phases.

In detail, you will have to develop the following activities:

– Design of control and safety systems for green hydrogen and chlor-alkali plants:

  • Development of preliminary control systems architecture;
  • Preparation of general automation specifications and project documentation (I/O list);
  • Preparation of request for quotation towards vendors (control systems vendors, hardware components vendors, system integrators, etc.);
  • Evaluation and technical alignment of supplier offers and preparation of purchase requests;
  • Follow-up of suppliers / control system integrators;
  • Interface with 3rd party control systems (customer, PLC, electrical machines);
  • FAT and SAT of control systems;
  • Assistance to commissioning and start-up phases if required;

– Follow-up package units:

  • Participation in technical meetings with suppliers of package units (equipped /non equipped with their own PLC);
  • Follow-up package unit (PU) documentation, especially: wiring & interconnecting diagrams, data sheets, control narratives, cable lists, I/O and Modbus lists, etc.;
  • HW and SW interface between PU supplier PLCs with the plant control system;
  • Participation in FAT and SAT of the package control syste / final inspection and functional test of the PU;
  • Participation in FAT and/or communication test between plant control system and PU PLC;

– Coordination of detailed engineering carried out by external companies and check for subcontractor documentation (JB wiring, interconnecting diagram, cable routes, cable list, MTO, etc.);

– Testing of individual equipment and control systems at suppliers’ workshop;

– Collaboration in commissioning and start-up;

– Participation in technical meetings with customers and suppliers;

– Technical support to Sales Management for the preparation of commercial offers.

Your profile

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of specific experience in engineering companies operating in the field of industrial plant engineering or in control system suppliers;
  • Good knowledge of the main industrial control systems;
  • Good knowledge of system architectures and industrial communication networks and protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet TCP/IP, OPC UA, etc.);
  • Preferably knowledge of Siemens control systems and PLCs;
  • Good written and spoken knowledge of the English language;
  • Knowledge of the main IT tools (MS Office) and Microsoft Visio (preferred);
  • Basic knowledge of Autocad;
  • Availability for business trips in Italy and abroad (EU and Extra EU);
  • Good ability to work both independently and in a team.
