Head of Erection, Commissioning and On-site Service Hub Italy

Your responsibilities

Aim of the position

As the Head of the Erection, Commissioning and on-site service hub (E&C hub) at thyssenkrupp nucera Italy, you will be responsible to develop a concept for the local E&C hub and to implement its build-up from beginning to full operation in collaboration with the Global Head of E&C hub located in India. The main focus of the E&C hub will be to do advisory services for the erection and commissioning of our Green Hydrogen modules, and for on-site service for balance of plant and our Chlor-Alkali business. You will be in charge of managing and leading this team having the opportunity to shape the hub from day 1.

You will be responsible for escalating impediments, managing risks, helping to ensure delivery, and driving the general improvement of the hub (e.g. processes).

 

Responsibilities

  • Define E&C scope of activities;
  • Define needed capabilities and organizational sizing;
  • Coordinate & implement the build-up of the erection, commissioning and on-site service hub for Green Hydrogen;
  • Ensure that the strategies and processes are in line with the business objectives of thyssenkrupp nucera and the targets set by the Global Head of E&C
  • Continuously improve processes, follow and enforce relating policies;
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Establish appropriate systems & procedures, and adopt best practices and methodologies in the E&C
  • Develop and maintain a high level of competence within erection & commissioning teams;
  • Work with the Global Head of E&C, sales teams, engineering teams, service teams and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment;
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget planning, monitoring budget expenditure;
  • Play an active role in resource planning and organization, efficiency measurement, human resource planning, selection, retention, motivation, and performance development;
  • Manage, supervise, and develop people including succession planning, training, talent management, and career development

Your profile

Skills, qualifications and abilities

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Fluent in English (German and other European languages are a plus);
  • Willingness to travel, especially to Germany and out of Europe at plant site;
  • Proven track record of experience in M&A transaction and in build-up of new business in new locations;
  • Strong business and management background (Mechanical and Chemical background is a plus);
  • Customer-centric, fact-based, and data-driven. You will enjoy working with technical teams for managing the supervision of erection, commissioning and on-site service of future green hydrogen plants;
  • Ability to communicate on all levels within the company and with clients/suppliers in written form and verbally;
  • Previous professional experience gained in plant erection, commissioning and service supervision (>6 years);
  • Strong decision making skills. Strong business sense and focus on delivering excellent results;
  • Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and be a team player. Competencies in relationship management, change management, thought leadership and problem solving;
  • Ability to prioritize, demonstrating relevant organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail & process, with the ability to work accurately in a busy, dynamic and demanding environment;
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work proactively using own initiative;
  • Strong but adaptive person who is leading and motivating people;
  • High attention to HSE topics and procedures.
