Logistics Executive

Your responsibilities

In this role you will work in Logistics – PSM group for global and Indian Projects. You will be expected to:

  • Familiar with all types of logics like Inbound, Outbound, Reverse, Third Party, Fourth Party, various types of truck load services and Green logistics
  • Manage logistics for Indian supplies and monitor the movement of material from vendor’s locations to the port and process shipments on time.
  • Track, trace and update the status of shipments.
  • Co-ordinate with the global logistics team and internal customers.
  • Review the shipping documents received from the vendor.
  • Provide inputs on ideal shipping techniques, routes, and carriers.
  • Respond to any issues or complaints related to shipments.
  • Adherence to the procurement procedures and enforcing safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Work in a multi-cultural environment with international teams on global projects.
  • Identify appropriate Forwarding agents / Customs House agents and develop and build relationships.
  • Float enquiries and expedite for offers from the Forwarding agents / Customs House agents and evaluate the bids commercially.
  • Preparing reports for upper management and analyzing logistics-related data. Highlight the issues / problem areas to the Project Procurement Manager / Logistics Manager related to shipments.
  • Coordination for commercial negotiations
  • Obtain internal approvals from Project Procurement Manager / Logistics Manager / Projects / Commercial prior for order placement and place purchase orders and expedite order acknowledgements.
  • Provide feedback on performance of service providers with respect to their capabilities / capacities, adherence to time schedule and resolve issues.
  • Provide information on prices from the market & recent price trends and transit periods and provide estimates based on facts. Ensure that there is sufficient back-up for discussions.
  • Involvement in route surveys if necessary.
  • Verification of packing lists and invoices.

 

Your profile

  • Completed university studies as a graduate.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the aforementioned areas of responsibility, ideally in the field of chemical plant engineering and construction.
  • Focused work, take initiative, proactive, team-player and negotiating skills.
  • Strong Customer / Vendor orientation and intercultural competence.
  • Good English language skills and communication skills.
  • Experience of working on Logistics Management tools is an added advantage.
  • Professional experience in Logistics function in reputed engineering/EPC company is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Transportation (air/sea/road), Packaging & Shipping.
  • Exposure to Import / Export procedures.
  • Abreast with Logistics issues.
  • Certification in Logistics Management is an added advantage.
  • Your team spirit and intercultural awareness supports you leveraging cultural differences in international work environment
  • Good knowledge of Customs procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task.
