Project Engineering Manager

Your responsibilities

As the Project Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the overall execution and coordination of all engineering tasks for a specific project with regard to quality, safety, cost and time. You will lead a team of skilled engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timeline. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of engineering principles.

 

Main responsibilities and Contents

  • Ensuring efficient communication and collaboration in the project within engineering;
  • Achieving the project engineering targets and milestones defines in the time schedule;
  • Defining and checking measures in case of discrepancies (time, budget, scope, efficiency, etc.) in the project;
  • Ensuring that engineering relevant HSE requirements and local regulations (e.g. environmental limits, product safety) have been considered and complied with;
  • Report to the project manager on the status of coordination and decision-making regarding engineering tasks;
  • Ensure together with the Director of engineering that the nominated personnel provide the overall technical quality, integrity and adequacy of all design Engineering work within the project budget and schedule;
  • Ensure required engineering meeting, reporting and milestones are executed in time;
  • Give input for an integrated and comprehensive project schedule, resolve schedule-related engineering issues between the engineering disciplines, review and analyze schedule deviations during the project lifecycle and establish engineering recovery plans as requires;
  • Define and coordinate the engineering application tools including the data transfers to be used;
  • Assist the technical risk assessment according to the rules applicable for the project risk management;
  • Ensure the product safety requirements related to the product design;
  • Ensure applicable codes and standards and regulations are available;
  • Coordinate the engineering deliverables, assure that document control is used and define the documentation and its format and structure to be followed by engineering, the customer and third parties according to contractual requirements;
  • Ensure procurement support during the Engineering phase, site support for the construction and commissioning phase (as a required) including personnel assignment, interface definition, flow of information and coordination of engineering activities on site;
  • Develop and/ or adapt the execution concept for the project together with line management and project manager if required.

Your profile

Skills, qualifications and abilities

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or a related field);
  • Master’s degree is a plus;
  • Proven experience 10 + years in project engineering and management roles; 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
